Let’s suppose that a conical derivation needs to be manufactured to replace a damage piece on the piping:

The piece dimension to be manufactured are known and the cylindrical part performs an exact angle of 60º with the central horizontal line of the main piping.

Using CALDsoft6, the 2 flat patterns are easily calculated:

Eventual problems that may occur on the assembly process:

Let’s suppose that while assembling the piece, the cylindrical part is mounted with a slight deviation on the 60º angle (let’s suppose this deviation is 2º). This can easily occur as the use of angles for assembly reference can always lead to errors.

Solving problems with CALDsoft

Considering that CALDsoft allows to work with 3D interface and also allows the assembly dimensions to be easily extracted, we can then measure on our software na assembly reference distance so as to avoid use of angles.
The whole piece, mainly the largest dimensions, can be monitored during the assembly with the use of 3D control dimensions.
This way, you design which is already correct on the unfolding of the pieces, also becomes perfect and dimensionally exact also during the assembly and welding.
