Example 1

:

To design 8 transitions from rectangle into a round shape in order to join the bottom outlets of the caption cyclones (round) to an enclosed conveyor belt (rectangular). Due to large cyclone dimensions, their outlets have not remain in perfect concentric position in relation to the conveyor belt inlets. To do the piece design, measurements of the eccentricity between each rectangular inlet of the conveyor belt by applying a single clamps and nylon strings. Having the dimensions in hand, the corresponding data were entered into CALDsoft and then all pieces were calculated in question of seconds.

Place: Eucatex – Botucatu SP/Brasil

normal assembly errors

Automatically printed drawings

After calculating the 8 transitions, the distribution of
pieces over the metal sheet available in the company was simulated.
Note: A few pieces were cut in 4 parts so as to result in a better metal sheet nesting.

Conclusion:

With the application of CALDsoft, a more precise budget was achieved once it allowed an evaluation of the actual consumption metal sheet weight, avoiding simple calculations for each individual piece. Nesting of the unfolded pieces is always taken into consideration.

Speed and mainly the unfolding precision (do it only once) will also reduce the piece total cost.

Every company that does not make first the unfolding in a plane table or CAD, leaving this tasks to the boiler designed, will usually have a higher coast once:

He will need a more qualified and experienced employee also to design simple flat patterns. With the application of CALDsoft, the boiler designer designs only complex pieces and the simple ones such as curves, cones, transitions, bifurcations, intersctions and etc, may be done by trainees or assistants as they receive drawings already designed.
