  Revolve  
     
  With this tool, CALDsoft7 can unfold any revolution shape and is appropriate to unfold parts such as heads.  
     
 
 
     
 

To calculate a part with Revolve it is necessary first to define a base profile that will be revolved around its central axis (red vertical line). The creation of this profile can be done through friendly graphic interface. This base profile is composed of lines and/or arcs. The creation of the base profile can be done in 3 ways:

- By typing the X and Y coordinate  values of the starting and end points of each straight line and X and Y coordinates of the starting and end points and center of each arc;

- By importing Polyline profiles from AutoCAD software;

- Through a TXT file with X and Y coordinates of the starting and end points of each straight line and X and Y coordinates of the starting and center points of each arc.

After defining the base profile for the revolution, it is possible to visualize the complete part in 3D. The number of divisions and the total angle of the revolution can be defined on the 3D visualization environment.

Besides typical parts from the metal-mechanic industry, the Revolve module adjusts very well for the unfold of inflatable parts and non-metallic material.

The Revolve module allows parts with an incomplete revolution be calculated, that is, with an angle smaller than 360 degrees.

Revolve also presents the possibility to make calculations of the exact method (without divisions) allowing the part be manufactured using conformation.
